Built by a Real Life Dad and Baseball Coach

Who got tired of guessing

I've spent years in the youth baseball world — as a parent, a coach, and a host of the Elbow Up podcast where I talk to sports medicine experts, coaches, and families about arm health.

What I kept hearing over and over: parents don't have the full picture. Little League tracks game pitches. Travel ball tracks game pitches. But nobody tracks the bullpen sessions, the private lessons, the long toss programs, the catches in the backyard, or the football throws in the fall.

And when a 12-year-old blows out his elbow, everyone's shocked. But the warning signs were there — scattered across three teams, two coaches, and a private instructor who never talked to each other.

ThrowIQ exists to be the single source of truth. Every throw, in one place, owned by the parent forever. So when coach asks "can he pitch today?", you don't have to guess.

This isn't about being the overprotective parent. It's about having the data to make smart decisions — and the confidence to say "not today" when the arm says stop.

When in doubt, we err on the side of caution. ThrowIQ would rather tell you to rest a day early than a day late.

Meet the Founder

Kevin Burke • 36 years in the game

I'm Kevin — and I've essentially played or coached baseball for 36 years. I started in rec coach pitch, played all-stars and travel ball, and played in high school before attending the United States Air Force Academy. When I came back home, I coached at my alma mater, then started coaching my oldest when he was four.

Since then, I've been a head coach at multiple levels — rec teams, all-star teams, travel teams, and even a high school freshman team. I've been an assistant from coach pitch all the way through varsity high school.

I also spent years watching my brother's career up close. He was an All-State football player and All-American baseball player who signed with Vanderbilt (then ranked #1 in the country). Drafted in the first round in 2006, he became a two-time Minor League All-Star (once as a hitter and once as a pitcher) and the 2009 Chicago Cubs Minor League Player of the Year.

I've seen the game from every angle — rec ball dugouts to professional clubhouses. And I've learned the hard way, including doing it all wrong the first time through with our oldest.

That's what makes ThrowIQ different. I'm not just telling you how I think you should do things. I've lived it.
